Another handprint thanksgiving craft

Sorry for the late post! I took some time out this weekend to take a little girls trip upstate and explore a new scenery! Now I'm back and have a new handprint thanksgiving craft to make with the kiddos.

Today we made handprint pilgrims and indians.
For the pilgrims we used a beige paint for the Palm and for only 4 fingers (leave out the thumb) we used black for the hat.

For the Indians we used a tan for the Palm and red, yellow, blue, and green on 4 fingers for the head dress.

When they dried I added the face details and the details on the hat and feathers. So easy and such a cute keepsake for years to come!

Hand-print Turkey

We have been very busy in the classroom making our Thanksgiving crafts. One of my favorites that we like to do is a hand print turkey. Its super simple and a really cute keepsake. All you need is some paint, paper and a tiny little hand!

We chose paint colors that we felt we fallish... you can choose whatever 4 colors you'd like for the feathers.

We painted each of the fingers different colors and the thumb and palm brown for the turkey's body.

we made our hand print and then when it dried we wrote happy thanksgiving and the year on it. You can write anything you want from gobble, gobble to give thanks. Then I drew on the beak and the eye and voila! The simplest yet cutest craft for you toddlers for a thanksgiving keepsake!

Curb side table makeover

I have been searching everywhere for a small table for my hallway for as long as I can remember. Just the other day when I was on my way to work I saw the perfect size table just sitting there on the curb. It wasnt the color I wanted but the size was just right. So I tossed it in the car and brought it home for a little makeover.

Here is what it looked like before.

I decided to go with white... I have been on a white kick for a while now and I am literally in the process of painting almost everything I own some shade of white.. so this table was not safe from white paint either.

Here is what it looks like after.... you also get a sneak peek at my hallway after which I will be doing a post on later this week. On a side note sorry for the terrible lighting... its not a very bright hallway which may be the next project on the list.

A Gluten Free Thanksgiving

With Thanksgiving right around the corner I have started to put together gluten for options. Usually we end up with unexpected guests that stop by, so I always like to have options just in case they have a dietary restriction. I myself cannot have gluten so I always have to make alternatives to the traditional Thanksgiving dishes.

Today I am sharing with you some of my go to items for a gluten free Thanksgiving.

I used this stuffing for the first time last year. I was able to find it at our local Stop & Shop.
I thought it was a great option for a gluten free stuffing. You can add celery or craisins or whatever you choose to spice things up a bit.

Whats a turkey without some gravy?? McCormick makes a few gluten free mixes. I used this gravy last year even though the gravy my family makes does not have gluten in it I decided to try this one out anyway. I thought it was pretty good!

My mom always makes a corn casserole. It used to be one of my favorites before I had to go gluten free. This mix is really good on its own, I like to make muffins out if it instead of a bread. This year I am going to try and make a casserole with it. I'll keep you posted with the outcome. This is definitely a favorite among gluten free and non gluten free folks!

I have not used this pie crust yet but I am going to make a gluten free pumpkin pie with it. Its a graham cracker crust and I am excited to mix it up with some pumpkin pie!

Last but not least, my all time favorite gluten free brownie mix! I actually use this mix all the time for all occasions and everyone loves it. I'm pretty sure most of my guests have no idea its gluten free.

I would love to hear from you about your favorite gluten free thanksgiving recipes and products!

A Target Christmas....

I know we haven't even made it to Thanksgiving yet but I always get super excited about Christmas decorations! I am always on the hunt for a good bargain... and when I see a good Christmas bargain I can't pass it up.

Today I made a quick trip to Target. I love browsing their dollar section. I always seem to find some really cute home decor items. Today I felt like I walked into a gold mine and I only spent $30! What did I get for that $30? I'll tell ya.... 4 Throw pillows, 4 Stockings, A mirrored tray, a table rumner, & the cutest red ceramic truck carrying a Christmas tree! Now I'd be all set if they had gold ornaments because I'm switching up my theme this year but you can't win em all.

How cute are these stockings?!? I seriously just can't get enough! And for three bucks a piece how could you say no??

I think my favorite find is the little red ceramic truck that was only three bucks!

I'm trying to hold out with the Christmas decor until the day after Thanksgiving but I don't know if I can with all of these new finds.... have a look for yourself... but act quick & get yourself to target because I don't think they will be there for long!

5 Favorites of November

I'm kicking this off with my 5 favorites of November! Lets get right to it...

  • Pumpkin Fireside: This is probably my favorite candle that I have lit all fall! If you are a fan of Bath and Body Works Marshmallow Fireside then you will surely love Pumpkin Fireside! There is nothing I love more than coming home from a long day of work and lighting a candle and kicking my feet up to relax!

  • ZVE Cellphone Case: I ordered this case for my Samsung Galaxy s6 from Amazon not really knowing if I would love it. I'm glad I did! The little pocket on the back is perfect for your ID or credit cards and a small amount of cash. You'd be surprised by how much actually fits in there! I find it very useful if I have to run out real quick and I don't feel like bringing my big purse.

  • Better Than New: Nicole Curtis has always been someone that I admire. I love her work both on old homes and how she uses her platform to help others in need. I read this book in about 2 days. I loved it! It was a good read to "get to know" her a little more. If you enjoy her show you will enjoy her book!

  • Luminara Candles: These flameless candles are everything! I got one as a gift and I can't wait to get more for my house. You can even purchase a remote separately and program them to it. They also have a timer feature. The flame flickers and its glow is exactly like an actual candle glow. It adds just the right cozy feel to any room!

  • Party Proof Lipstick: I had received this lipstick when I was getting my Birchboxes in the mail. This is by far the longest lasting lipstick I have ever worn in my life. I wore this to a party and fell asleep with all of my makeup on... when I woke up in the morning this lipstick was still on! I kid you not. So if you are looking for a lipstick that will outlast that long party you are attending, this is the one!

And there you have it, my 5 favorites for November! I would love to hear your feedback on any of these products if you have tried them yourself!
